Tyrone Williams: Beauty in the Breakdown

[READ TIME <1 MINUTE]

TYRONE WILLIAMS | PORTRAIT

Meet Tyrone Williams, a young photographer with an incredible eye, who wants to redefine what people consider beautiful. This year he became joint winner of BBC Four’s Great British Photography Challenge presented by world renowned photographer Rankin, and is now proudly represented by Darklight Art.

Tyrone’s photography focusses on details that most of us would not even notice. His aim is to find ‘beauty in life’s imperfections’, and the results are stunning.

“Photography is where my inner world meets the outer world. It’s a place I can go to fully express myself whilst staying in touch with my thoughts and feelings about the world. I first picked up the camera in my early teens rollerblading using disposable cameras, since then I’ve been intrigued by the infinite possibilities within a frame.”

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE BEING ON GREAT BRITISH PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE.

I learnt a lot from the whole experience, from the get-go, talking and learning about different aspects of photography with the other photographers and Rankin’s team was an eye-opener. It gave me a wider understanding of what my work can represent. It came with it’s challenges, but looking back it was all part of the process for me further developing my work.
