It’s time to get equal parts LUSTY and VICIOUS in this quick-fire round of questions. Welcome. To Shag, Marry, Avoid: Artists Edition.
Welcome to the floor Hannah Tindle – ES Magazine’s fashion features director, very good tweeter and most stylish of writers. This hot tamale knows a thing or two about a good shag, but she also has a degree in fine art so knows a thing or two about THAT as well. Just as well we asked Hannah which artists she would most like to Shag/Marry/Avoid. Here’s what she said.
Jean-Michel Basquiat. As Jennifer Clement writes in Widow Basquiat, a story that explores his relationship with partner and muse Suzanne Mallouk, told from Mallouk’s perspective: ‘It was clear that his sexual interest was not monochromatic. It did not rely on visual stimulation, such as a pretty girl. It was a very rich multi-chromatic sexuality. He was attracted to people for all different reasons. They could be boys, girls, thin, fat, pretty, ugly. It was, I think, driven by intelligence. He was attracted to intelligence more than anything and to pain. He was very attracted to people who silently bore some sort of inner pain as he did, and he loved people who were one of a kind, people who had a unique vision of things.’ Hot.
Georgia O’Keefe. Although she reportedly lived a rather solitary life in New Mexico at Ghost Ranch and her studio at Abiquiú, I would like to imagine that she wouldn’t mind me moving in with her.
Banksy. I mean it’s pretty easy to avoid him as, famously, no one knows his identity. Let’s hope it stays that way!
